A Midsummer Day Trip

A Midsummer Day Trip

My husband and I finally decided to take a week off for a staycation. We love our new home and it’s nice to be able to do something new and fun. While options can feel somewhat limited as we are choosing to stay in more, we have been creative in planning some short day trips.

Our favourite this morning was a trip to Laveanne Lavender Farm. We purchased our tickets last week along with some delicious lavender treats to take home from their shop. We left home bright and early and arrived at the Farm just as it opened at about 8:45am. We were one of the first to arrive which gave us ample time to walk around the Farm’s four acres of lavender fields and meditatative labyrinth. We brought a light breakfast picnic with us and enjoyed under one of the apple trees on the property. Our daughter, Zee loved their cute little fairy garden. All in all it gave us a couple of hours when we could forget about the pandemic and take in the stunning summer day.

Highly recommend you try it out with these tips:

  •  Book your time slot (Tickets were $~8/pp for anyone age of 12 years and older
  • Try to come first thing in the morning when the sun is still light and the weather is cooler. The crowds seemed lighter at this time too, so physical distancing was easy.
  • Bring your own picnic or light snacks
  • Plan to stay 1 to 1.5hr

I would love to hear about your day trips.

xoxo
